29th European Safety and Reliability Conference (ESREL 2019) vom 22 - 26 September 2019 in Hannover
The 29th European Safety and Reliability Conference (ESREL 2019) in Hannover, 22 - 26 September 2019 is organised by the Institute for Risk and Reliability, Leibniz Universität Hannover under the auspices of the European Safety and Reliability Association (ESRA) and in collaboration with the Association of German Engineers (VDI), the Liverpool Institute for Risk and Uncertainty, the Shanghai Institute of Disaster Prevention and Relief, the Leibniz Research Centre Energy 2015 (LiFE 2050), and the Confucius Institute Hannover.
The objective of ESREL 2019 is to provide an all-round inspiring environment and a multi-disciplinary forum for the exchange of knowledge and expertise on theories and methods in the field of risk, safety and reliability, and on their application to a wide range of industrial, civil and social sectors and problem areas. This range is structured into 19 methodological topics and 23 application areas and sectors.
Papers presented at ESREL 2019 will be published in open access conference proceedings by Research Publishing Services, Singapore, and be indexed.
Post-conference special issues in indexed journals will be prepared based on extended versions of papers selected from the conference.

10th Doctoral Workshop Energy Informatics 2019 vom 24 - 25 September 2019 in Salzburg, Österreich
For the 10th time, the doctoral workshop Energy Informatics discusses the role of ICT and computer science in future energy systems. The energy transition (Energiewende) – a politically supervised and accelerated shift in direction from nuclear and fossil fuels to sustainable sources of energy – yields drastic changes in the operation of existing energy supply and demand systems and requires a paradigm shift in both their planning and operation.
The workshop Energy Informatics 2019 invites doctoral / PhD students whose research focuses on the intersection of informatics, power engineering, and energy economics. This workshop presents an opportunity for PhD students to discuss their current work – ranging from preliminary ideas to project/thesis results – with researchers from within the same community.

8th DACH+ Conference on Energy Informatics: September 26-27, 2019
8th DACH+ Conference on Energy Informatics vom 26 - 27 September 2019 in Salzburg, Österreich
Europe has put forward ambitious targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, to increase energy efficiency, and to raise the share of renewable energies. Energy Informatics is developing IT-based solutions necessary to achieve these targets. The objective of the DACH+ conference series on Energy Informatics is to promote the research, development, and implementation of information and communication technologies in the energy domain and to foster the exchange between academia, industry, and service providers in the German-Austrian-Swiss region and its neighboring countries (DACH+).
We seek high-quality, original papers on smart energy systems and energy-efficient computing and communication. Submissions describing theoretical contributions as well as system design, implementation, and experimentation are welcome. The list of topics of interest to the conference includes, but is not limited to:
- ICT for energy networks, micro-grids, and management of distributed generation.
- Energy-efficient mobility, charge management for electric vehicles, energy-aware traffic control, and smart grid integration of mobile storage.
- Smart buildings, digital metering, occupant comfort, and user interaction.
- Protocols and architectures for IT systems in the energy sector.
- Data analytics for smart energy systems and platforms for data analysis.
- Information systems for behavior change, market mechanisms, and business cases.
- Cross-cutting issues including: cyber security and privacy protection, interoperability, verification of networked smart grid systems, and more.
